One the few stops was at Dunnottar Castle ruins. Normally you can pay to go in the part that's still intact but it was closed due to the wind. I was about 5 metres from the edge (in the foreground) here, that was a close at I was game, for fear of being blown over the cliff, and I'm not exaggerating.
There is about 200 steps down into this cove, where you normally gain access to the castle. No wind down here thank goodness so a lot more pleasant.
The castle would have looked very imposing in its day from down here.
I don't take many photos as we're driving along but I did snap this one. There were quite a lot of these poly tunnels along the way that are full of strawberries growing in them.
We arrived in Edinburgh late afternoon and it was even windy here. We have self catering accommodation for two nights so we can have a full day seeing the sights tomorrow.
